Quad City Times "Ask the Times" writer, Roy Booker, was asked by a curious Quad Cities citizen, "On the Ruhl&Ruhl Realtors Real Estate Today TV show, the lady and young man look so much alike. Are the two related?" Booker, a self-proclaimed investigator promised to find the answer. Ruhl&Ruhl Realtors customer service manager, Mandy Angotti, was contacted for a response. She explained that Caroline Ruhl and Chris Beason are mother and son. The duo have been working together since 2009 when Chris started as a sales associate in the Bettendorf Office. He is currently the manager of the Moline Office. Family business advisor, Curchin, stated in the article, "Family Businesses and Succession Plans" that as of 2013, only 3% of family businesses make it to the fourth generation and beyond. "Family businesses have unique needs that not every company has to deal with; only 33% of family businesses have actual succession plans. It is a common misconception that family members expect the next generation to take over." Luckily, the Ruhl Family has had family members attracted to the business. Five generations have shaped Ruhl&Ruhl Realtors into the company the community has grown to love. Strong family values and core principles are at the heart of Ruhl&Ruhl Realtors. These standards have been passed down from generation to generation and are considered the glue that holds the company together. Values give a common bond exemplified by Caroline and Chris that is noticed in sales associates and staff. Today, Ruhl&Ruhl has expanded to 12 offices, 58 employees, and 300 sales associates.
